This is THE event that you don’t want to miss – the Burk’s Falls & District Historical Society’s Heritage Festival on Saturday June 8th from 11AM to 3PM! Organizers have pulled out all the stops and there is an amazing lineup of vendors, performers, and fun activities.

Of course, the big event is the Firefighter Challenge happening at noon. It features all five Almaguin fire departments facing off. 705BLACKFLY.COM spoke with McMurrich-Monteith Fire Chief John Ross a few weeks ago and he says his department – who are the reigning champs – has a little something up their sleeves this year! Huntsville’s Asylum Hotrods has designed a new trophy that will be unveiled at the event.

The exciting new event is the car show featuring classic cars, hot rods, rat rods, and motorcycles. Organizer Jim Percy – whose rat rod is a familiar sight around Burk’s Falls! – has been working for months to bring in cool cars from right across the region. The cars will be judged in several categories. Asylum Hotrods and 705BLACKFLY.COM are the proud sponsors of the car show. We’ll be there presenting an award and shooting video of the event, so please say hi if you see us!

***Please note that all car show participants must be on site by 11AM.

We’d like to congratulate Armour township deputy clerk Charlene Watt, and the team who has been working tirelessly since January to coordinate this event. This is true community spirit. Well done!

Be sure to listen to our interview with Charlene and have a look at the ads below for more information on this great event.
